Composting Workshop at the ACC Library

Composting Workshop at the Athens-Clarke County Library

Help the Athens-Clarke County Library welcome the ACC Cooperative Extension and ACC Recycling Division on Tuesday, May 6, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. as they teach all the "dirty" secrets to good backyard composting. Patrons can celebrate International Compost Awareness Week by learning about composting using various worms, known as vermi-composting. Two vermi-composting bins will even be built and given away.

Held each first full week of May, International Compost Awareness Week is the largest and most comprehensive education initiative of the compost industry. ICAW promotes the good social and sustainable habits that nature teaches with composting, emphasized by this year's slogan: "Compost! The solution to sustainable soil and water." The library is teaming up with ACC Cooperative Extension, ACC Recycling Division and the State Botanical Garden of Georgia to celebrate locally.

The event will be held in the library's Multipurpose Room C and is free and open to the public.
