Third Thursday events and exhibitions for November 16
The next Third Thursday - the monthly evening of art in Athens, Georgia - is scheduled for Thursday, November 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. All exhibitions are free and open to the public.

Georgia Museum of Art, University of Georgia

Thursday Twilight Tour: Highlights from the Permanent Collection at 7 p.m.
Screening: Americans in Paris Film Series: "The Moderns" at 7 p.m.
On view:

"Muse: Mickalene Thomas Photographs and tête-à-tête" - This exhibition, organized by Aperture Foundation, New York, includes works by acclaimed contemporary artist Mickalene Thomas as well as works by artists who inspired her.
"Louise Blair Daura: A Virginian in Paris" - This exhibition showcases all known works of Louise Blair Daura, a skilled portraitist form Virginia. It is the first attempt by a museum to examine her short career as an artist.
"Martha Odum: Art Intersects Ecology" - To celebrate the 50th anniversary of UGA's Eugene P. Odum School of Ecology, this exhibition features landscape paintings by Martha Odum, Eugene Odum's wife, as well as other works related to ecology.

"In the Shadow of the Sea: Photographs from Cuba by Sean Dunn"

"Magical Mystery Tour" – Your dream come true or your worst nightmare, this exhibition toys with surreal psychedelia, featuring Dana Haugaard's reflective hypnotic swirls, Jourdan Joly's towering ice cream scoops, the dystopian dreamscapes of Orion Wertz, Jaime Bull's strange celestial spaces, Brian Hitselberger's graphic musings on dreaming and Jacob Wenska's newest illustrations for good evening read.
The GlassCube Gallery has a site-specific installation entitled "Amorphous Dislocations of Ultramarine" by artist Lucha Rodriguez. A chance to momentarily escape from your everyday routine and step into a transformative world of sculptural paper.

Third Thursday was established in 2012 to encourage attendance at Athens' established art venues through coordination and co-promotion by the organizing entities.
