For teens: Goal Setting, the Key to Success

Goal Setting, the Key to Success! at Athens-Clarke County Library with local chapter of Black Law Student Association, October 19 and 26

Education experts say that middle and high school students are more likely to succeed if they start thinking about their future career goals and aspirations earlier. Are you a teen eagerly seeking the keys to success? Join us at the Athens Clarke-County Library for a two-day workshop about goal setting and success on Thursday, Oct. 19 and Thursday, Oct. 26, at 4:30 p.m. in Multi-purpose Room B.

The "Destined for Success" workshop, hosted by The Davenport-Benham Chapter of the Black Law Student Association, aims to expose middle and high school students to the study of law, while also teaching them why it's important to avoid facing punishment within the judicial system.

The first part of the workshop, on Thursday, Oct. 19, will focus on setting goals. The second half of the workshop, on Thursday, Oct. 26, will include a mock trial. Overall, the goal of the workshop is to help teens develop confidence, public speaking skills and positive outlooks on future career options.

These workshops are free and open to teens in sixth through twelfth grades. For more information, call (706) 613-3650. The Athens-Clarke County Library is located at 2025 Baxter St., Athens.
