Athens' Annual Rivers Alive event is just around the bend!
Help preserve Athens' precious rivers and streams at this year's Rivers Alive volunteer cleanup event!
In 2016, 307 Rivers Alive volunteers helped collect 2.6 tons (5,150 lbs.) of trash, 0.5 tons (1,070 lbs.) of recycling, and 228 tires during the event! This year our cleanup will be on Saturday, September 30 from 8:00 AM to Noon.
Volunteer check-in is at Sandy Creek Nature Center located at 205 Old Commerce Rd. Volunteer Check-in starts at 8:00 AM and there will be FREE breakfast and live entertainment as we gather for the cleanup!
Volunteers should bring a reusable water bottle and gloves, and wear long pants and closed toed shoes. Please visit www.athensclarkecounty.com/riversalive to register.
