Renowned nature photographer David FitzSimmons will present a children's story time program "Georgia's Curious Critters" at the Chattahoochee Nature Center on September 1.

Hear about animals from farms and fields to woods and wetlands. Plus, interact with a live gopher tortoise, a species featured in FitzSimmons's books.

What: Children's Storytime Program and Book Signing

When: September 1 from 3:00-5:00 PM

Where:  Chattahoochee Nature Center, 9135 Willeo Rd., Roswell, GA, 770-992-2055

Children and families encouraged to attend. Included with General Admission to CNC, Free to CNC Members

FitzSimmons will read from Wakem the Rooster: Up All Night, featuring a rooster who has his days and nights mixed up. Kids will get to call like a rooster, search the barnyard for missing sheep, and enjoy more barnyard fun!

He'll then put on a picture showing of the incredible animals featured in CURIOUS CRITTERS Georgia, including galvanizing photographs of mammals, birds, reptiles, insects, and other Georgia wildlife. Includes puppets, crafts, coloring pages, and more!

David FitzSimmons is a freelance writer and photographer, whose award-winning Curious Critters children's picture books have sold over 100,000 copies. A former school teacher and university professor, he travels widely presenting programs on writing, nature, and photography to schools and libraries. David, his wife, and their three daughters live in rural Ohio.

Richard Cowdrey has illustrated over fifty children's books, including the New York Times best-selling Marley series. Richard's love of nature and country life inspires much of his artwork. When not painting in his rural Ohio studio, Richard enjoys visiting schools, sharing his love of illustration.
