Athens-Clarke County Library announces screening of Muscle Shoals All-Stars performance

The Athens-Clarke County Library and Lincoln Center Local present a free screening of a performance by the Muscle Shoals All-Stars on Tuesday, June 20, at 6:00 p.m 

The performance was taped at Lincoln Center's Out of Doors Festival on July 22, 2015, and will be shown in Athens-Clarke County Library's Appleton Auditorium.

The Muscle Shoals All-Stars – Jimmy Johnson and David Hood of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section (also known as the Swampers), the Muscle Shoals Horns, and a host of others – are the architects of some of the most iconic music this country has ever produced Making a rare trip together outside the studio, the Muscle Shoals All-Stars performance at the Out of Doors festival includes special guests Patterson Hood, Bettye LaVette, Sam Moore, Dan Penn, Donnie Fritts and John Paul.

Lincoln Center Local: Free Screenings, a program created by Lincoln Center Education and hosted by libraries and community centers, brings the best of Lincoln Center – world-renowned performances coupled with unparalleled educational resources – off its Manhattan-based campus and into communities anywhere. This Lincoln Center program provides high-definition screenings from the growing digital catalog of the world's leading performing arts center. These music, dance, theater and opera performances come from recent live events at the Lincoln Center, including the New York Philharmonic, Lincoln Center Theater, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and School of American Ballet, as well as past performances at Lincoln Center Out of Doors, Midsummer Night Swing, American Song, and past broadcasts from the Emmy Award-winning PBS series Live from Lincoln Center.
