Lyndon House Arts Center to Host "Patterns in Nature Workshop" with David Hale
Lyndon House Arts Center guest exhibiting artist David Hale will conduct an afternoon workshop, "Patterns in Nature," in conjunction with his exhibition "Beloved Land." The program will take place Saturday, June 3 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lyndon House.
Patterns are all around us; they can be found in everything we look are, but we often do not notice them. Hale will share how the careful observation of patterns in our local land and environment can inspire artworks. This workshop will begin with exploring and sketching outdoors, finding simple shapes in wildlife and then continue inside the gallery where we will create drawings that incorporate nature's patterns, surrounded by David Hale's exhibit, "Beloved Land". Each participant will leave with a deeper way of seeing and appreciating the world around them. No experience is necessary and the exercises will offer something for all levels from folks who insist they "can't draw" to professional artists looking to explore new ways of seeing.
This program is for ages 12 and older. Families are welcome. Online registration is requested and is underway at www.athensclarkecounty.com/leisure. The program is free of charge however there is a supply fee of $15 per participant.
Additionally, the Lyndon House announces the first of the "Lyndon House Artist Edition Series" with David Hale's print, "Resistance." This limited edition screen print will be available on June 3, at 4:00 p.m. Each work is numbered and signed by the artist and is available purchase for $50 with 100% of the proceeds going to the Lyndon House Arts Foundation in support of the Lyndon House's programming.
