Oconee Farmer's Market

Oconee Farmer's Market

Vendors will bring vegetables for the table, plants for the garden, baked goods, jams, eggs from free-range chickens, steaks and other cuts of grass-fed beef, pastas, soaps, and dog biscuits.

Market hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

North Third Street at Main Street is open this year, providing easy access to the large parking lot behind the Courthouse itself.

Support the farmers and other artisans from the community.

---- This Saturday ----

Paw Paw's Peanuts will have boiled peanuts and beef jerky.

Convenant Valley Farms will have local honey, sourwood honey, grass-fed Angus beef, free range eggs, handcrafted lip balms and lotion bars.

Lattimore Luck Acres will have goats milk soaps, with more than 65 variations based on the different scents used.

Vendors at the Farmers Market on Saturday also will be selling lettuce, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, peas, Swiss chard, cauliflower, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, onions, turnip greens and cabbage.

There will be plants and herbs for the garden, vegetarian dog treats, pastas, salsa, ravioli, empanadas, lasagna, gelato, tamales, granola, cookies, cakes and cobblers.

Sheri Stout will have tie dye clothes, pillows and sheets, and Joy Redmond will have her gourd art, repurposed jewelry and pottery.

The Oconee County Animal Shelter will be represented at a booth with pottery, pet treats, and t-shirts, with all proceeds going to the shelter.

Athens Singing Circle will provide the entertainment.

As many as 10 singers will combine their voices to provide music from today and "way back when" with harmony and guitars.

The Athens Singing Circle has been performing since 1998 at bookstores, local cafes, assisted living homes, hospitals and the Oconee Farmers Market.

Market hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine. Parking is behind the Courthouse.

Lattimore Luck Acres Owner Amanda Latimer says the goats on the small farm at 1540 McRee's Mill Road outside Watkinsville spend the days "grazing green pastures and eating locally grown hay," making her Artisan Goat Milk Soap an Oconee County speciality.

The hand-crafted label on Latimer Luck Acres soaps tells the real story of the Oconee Farmers Market.

"With this purchase, you are supporting our family farm," it reads.

Help keep Oconee County green. Support the local farmers and craft people who turn out each Saturday to sell their goods.

Come to the Farmers Market on Saturday and bring your friends and neighbors!
