The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department seeks female and male dances, ages 10 – 18, for the 2017-18 dance and performance season with the East Athens Educational Dance Center.
Auditions will be held on February 23, 2017 at 6 PM at the Dance Center and everyone should come prepared to dance. The Dance Center has four Accelerated Dance Programs and a Junior and Senior Performing Company. Accelerated Programs and Company auditions will be held in conjunction with each other and dancers will be placed into programs and companies accordingly.
Accelerated Program students and Company members should be prepared to rehearse twice a week: Wednesdays from 5-7:30 PM and Thursdays from 7-8:30 PM for company members only. Additionally, dancers must take required ballet, jazz, modern, tap, and technique classes. Company members perform in numerous community events, have their own annual concert in October, and perform in five other shows that the Dance Center host each year. Company members who are 15 years or older have the opportunity to become an assistant instructor and assistant choreographer.
