Seventh Annual Roll Out the Barrels Silent Auction

Enjoy functional art and support sustainability at the Seventh Annual Roll Out the Barrels silent auction!

The Athens-Clarke County Stormwater Management Program and ACC Water Conservation Office will co-host the seventh annual Roll Out the Barrels fundraiser on Thursday, May 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Terrapin Brewery (265 Newton Bridge Road). The event will feature a silent auction of barrels painted by 20 local artists, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and live music from the Welfare Liners. Roll Out the Barrels raises money to support the ACC Green Schools Program, an initiative that encourages environmental education in Athens-Clarke County schools.

Water pollution is a serious problem in Athens-Clarke County and green infrastructure, such as rain barrels and other rain harvesters, are an important component in addressing that problem. Rain barrels are easy-to-install and can be used to protect water by both reducing runoff and reducing the need to pull from city water supplies for lawn-care and car washing.
