Athens hosting 2017 Pokémon Regional Championships Tournament!

Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) and video game players, their supporters, and Pokémon fans from throughout theSoutheast are invited to attend the 2017 Pokémon Regional Championships the weekend of January 14th and 15th. The Classic Center is hosting the open event where competitors will battle for the coveted title of Pokémon Regional Champion, valuable Championship Points, and more than $50,000 in prize money, scholarships, and Travel Certificates. Open to TCG and video game players of all ages and skill levels, the Pokémon Regional Championships are part of a full slate of all-new competitive events designed make it even easier for players to jump into the Play! Pokémon program and participate in the year-long competitive season. Players that achieve a top Championship Points ranking at the tail end of the season will earn an invitation to compete at the 2017 Pokémon World Championships in Anaheim, CA in August.

The Athens Pokémon TCG Regional Championships begins Saturday, January 14 at 8:30 a.m., and the Pokémon Video Game Regional Championships will start on Saturday, January 14 beginning at 9:00 a.m.
