Department of Dance Performance Sampler

UGA dance students will perform a variety of dance styles in classical and contemporary ballet, contemporary modern, and aerial dance with mixed media featuring faculty created choreographic works by CORE Concert Contemporary and Aerial Dance Company, Spring Dance Concert, and CADE:NCE (Contemporary African Dance Ensemble: New Conscious Explorations). This will showcase a sample of works to be presented in the Spring 2017 Department of Dance concert productions.

BFA Exit Exhibition Opening Reception
6 p.m., Lamar Dodd School of Art Galleries
This reception celebrates student work in Sculpture, Art X and Printmaking.

Hodgson Singers
8 p.m., Hodgson Concert Hall
$12/$6 with UGA student ID
The UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music's premier choral ensemble, the Hodgson Singers, performs its fall concert, titled "Americana" and celebrating American composers and American musical styles.

"Jane Eyre," adapted from Charlotte Bronte's novel by Polly Teale
8 p.m., Fine Arts Theatre
$16/$12 with UGA student ID
This inventive adaptation of a literary classic is about an orphan who endures a severe childhood before becoming a governess for the ward of Mr. Rochester. He awakens her long-buried passionate self, though his own secrets have been hidden for years.

Young Choreographers Series: Senior Exit Concert
8 p.m., New Dance Theatre, Dance Building
Choreography and production by graduating senior dance majors. The 2016 concert will include choreography by 9 B.F.A. candidates performed by dance majors and minors selected by audition. A reception will follow the Friday evening performance.
