Pajama Story Time with Author/Illustrator Jon Agee: Lion Lessons
Avid Bookshop presents author and illustrator Jon Agee in celebration of LION LESSONS on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There is no admission charge.
Here's an idea: feed the kids an early-ish supper, dress them in pajamas, grab those beloved lovies and blankets, and join us for a very special pajama story time with a talented author and illustrator of children's books!
Find the book here on Avid's website: http://www.avidbookshop.com/book/9780803739086
ABOUT THE BOOK:
With the wit and read-aloud appeal of Peter Brown's CHILDREN MAKE TERRIBLE PETS and William Steig's PETE'S A PIZZA, this funny, fierce picture book teaches kids just what it takes to be a great lion.
There are seven steps to becoming a proper lion, including Looking Fierce, Roaring, Prowling Around, and Pouncing. Our young hero, a rather meek and scrawny human boy, does his best to learn the necessary skills during his training with a master instructor (who just happens to be a real lion). After a grueling set of lessons, the boy discovers that that the final step-Looking Out for Your Friends-is the most important of all. That's how any kid can earn his lion diploma (not to mention the affection of every cat in town).
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Jon Agee is the beloved author and illustrator of many acclaimed picture books, including TERRIFIC (a New York Times-Best Illustrated Book), MILO'S HAT TRICK (an ALA Notable Book), LITTLE SANTA (an ALA Notable Book and recipient of five starred reviews), and IT'S ONLY STANLEY (a Boston Globe-Horn Book Award Honor Book).
