Sculptor Alice Aycock to speak at the Georgia Museum of Art
The Georgia Museum of Art at the University of Georgia will present a lecture by the sculptor Alice Aycock on Thursday, February 11, at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Aycock will share stories of her career as an artist, taking an in-depth look at selected works she has created. Her large-scale pieces in earth and industrial materials relate to themes of human and spatial relationships with nature, architecture and the built environment. Two of Aycock's large-scale sculptures are on display in the museum's Jane and Harry Willson Sculpture Garden through September 4, 2016. The sculpture garden is devoted to the display of work by women sculptors.
