5th Annual YWCO Kids Tri The Y

 Youth Triathlon for kids 6-15 years old.  The race takes place on a closed course with the swim and run on the YWCO campus and the bike on Research Drive. The race starts with an indoor pool swim, proceeds to a flat bike course which is completely closed to traffic and monitored by ACC police, and ends with a run on the shaded trails and soccer fields of the YWCO. We have almost one volunteer for every two athletes -- we literally cover the course with support.

Last year we welcomed 125 athletes and are increasing the field to 150 participants this year.PARTICIPATION IS LIMITED TO 150 ATHLETES. Every finisher will receive a t-shirt, swim cap, finisher medal, and goodie bag. You must register by April 29, 2016 in order to be guaranteed your exact t-shirt size. 

• 6-8 year olds: 50 yard swim, 2 mile bike, 600 yard run

• 9-11 year olds: 100 yard swim , 3 mile bike, 1 mile run

• 12-15 year olds: 150 yard swim 4 mile bike, 1.5 mile run

Our after party is a HUGE reason to participate in this race. We make every effort to celebrate the kids by showering them with attention and fun. This year we will have music and live commentary from Kevin Cheek and Dawg Town Entertainment, concessions, bottled water, inflatable slide, face painting, and age group awards for the top (3) athletes male & female in each age group 6, 7, 8, 9, etc.

We will have a short pre-race announcement at 6:50 and the race will start precisely at 7:00am with the 12-15 year old age group. Athletes in the 9-11 age group will need to report to the pool area at 7:50 for their race announcement and 8:00 a.m. race start. Athletes in the 6-8 age group will need to report to the pool area at 8:50 for their race announcement and 9:00 a.m. race start.
