Avid Bookshop presents the book launch party celebrating local author Rick LaFleur aka Dr Illa Flora for Where the Wild Things Are in Latin: Ubi Fera Sunt on Wednesdsay, December 16, 2015, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There is no admission charge.

ABOUT THE BOOK: 

This is a lively, lovingly wrought Latin version of Maurice Sendak's classic children's book, Where the Wild Things Are, translated by noted Latinist Richard A. LaFleur (aka, Doctor Illa Flora).

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: 

Richard A. LaFleur is Franklin Professor of Classics Emeritus and former Head of Classics at the University of Georgia; he has served as Editor of the Classical Outlook and President of the American Classical League, and is a recipient of the American Philological Association's national award for excellence in the teaching of Classics. Among his numerous books are Scribblers, Sculptors and Scribes and the revised editions of Wheelock's Latin, Workbook for Wheelock's Latin, and Wheelock's Latin Reader.
