Community Conversation on Vaccinations
The UGA College of Public Health and Athens Regional Health System invite the entire university community to attend a public forum aimed at addressing questions and concerns surrounding recommended vaccinations.
Experts from UGA and Athens Regional will explain the reasons and science behind vaccine use, address vaccination safety, and discuss the role vaccines have played in protecting the health of both individuals and communities from infectious disease outbreaks.
Panelists include Dr. José Cordero, Patel Distinguished Professor of Public Health, and Karen Hilyard,assistant professor of health communications, from the UGA College of Public Health; Glen Nowak, director of the Center for Health and Risk Communication at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication; and local pediatrician Dr. Alan Glassman.
This is the second in a series of Community Conversations presented by the College that focus on important public health topics as they arise. The series is generously sponsored by Athens Regional Health System. The event is free and open to the public. Free parking will be available.
