Stone Mountain Village Pet Fest

In celebration of American Humane Association's national Adopt-A-Dog Month this October, AARF is inviting both prospective and current pet owners to celebrate pets at the Stone Mountain Village Pet Fest on October 24, from 11:00-4:00 pm. The event will be held on the large lawn on Main Street in Stone Mountain Village.

Events include:

* Dog Costume Contest with Prizes
* Dog Adoptions
* Games for People and Dogs
* Pet Supply Vendors
* Silent Auction
* Kids' Arts & Crafts Tent

Leashed, vaccinated dogs are welcome to attend with their owners. The event is free to attend, but games and contests will require a small fee. Attendees are asked to bring a pair of new or gently used shoes to contribute to AARF's "Donate Your Soles to AARF" fundraiser.

** AARF was founded in 2002 and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization licensed by the state of Georgia that works to assist abandoned, abused and stray animals in finding new, loving homes. The mission of Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends, Inc. is to end pet overpopulation. We strive to accomplish our mission through three main objectives:

1. Promote informed, responsible, and humane companion animal ownership;
2. Eliminate euthanasia of healthy adoptable animals;
3. Achieve total sterilization of all companion pets.
