Cyclocross

ACROSS THE BEERIERS
presented by The Southern Brewing Company
October 10-11, 2015

The second race of the 2015 Georgia Cyclocross Series will be held in Athens this weekend at Across the Beeriers presented by The Southern Brewing Company!

What is cyclocross? Cyclocross was developed in the early 1900's in Europe as a way for road cycling racers to stay fit during their off seasons of fall and winter each year. Most CX courses feature short, steep and often muddy sections, drop-offs and man-made barriers (or in this case, BEERiers!). This intense discipline helped athletes stay in shape and would improve their overall racing skills. So why race? Because the combination of cycling, running and jumping over barriers is not only challenging and physically demanding, but it's FUN! Races are typically 30 to 60 minutes long, and participation in cyclocross will ultimately improve bike handling and power.

Across the Beeriers will be held on-site at Southern Brewing Company (231 Collins Industrial Boulevard, Athens, GA 30601). Kelly's Jamaican will be at the event on Saturday selling delicious Jamaican food. The brewery will be open for tours in the afternoon. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN BEER. Outside alcohol is NOT PERMITTED on-site due to Georgia Law. Pets are allowed, but make sure Fido is on a leash!

Registration for Across the Beeriers presented by The Southern Brewing Company is online through BikeReg.

One (1) tour at Southern Brewing is included with entry to those 21 or older! Must present valid ID.

All non-licensed racers much purchase either a one-day USAC license for $15 or an annual license for $70 ($35 for Juniors), and compete in the applicable CX5, Junior, Women CX4, SS or Masters 35+ (CX5 ONLY).
