Zoo Day

Make tracks to Bear Hollow Zoo in Memorial Park for a "Zooniversity" at Zoo Day 2015 on Saturday, August 29 from 10:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  

This annual event features a special back to school theme in which children will learn all about animals and zoo keeping.  Children can complete activities to master all the necessary zoo keeper skills, earn grades for their zoo keeper report card, and graduate with an honorary degree – a BHZ in Zoo Keeping.  There will be fun for the entire family.  Other activities include arts and crafts, concessions, exhibitors, and discussions regarding zoo animals. This is a family-friendly event. 

The fee for this event is $2 per person for Athens-Clarke County residents and $3 per person for non-residents.   Children younger than the age of two are admitted free of charge.
