Yoga Spring Festival – 108 Sun Salutations

Yoga Spring Festival – 108 Sun Salutations to Take Place at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia March 21

Yoga practitioners will take over the Flower Garden Lawn at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, a unit of the University of Georgia, for the Yoga Spring Festival – 108 Sun Salutations on March 21 at 5:30 p.m.

"This event is much more than the physical yoga practice," explains, Patty Pinckney, co-coordinator of the event and local Business Consultant and Life Coach. "It is a meditation in action that celebrates community and leaving behind what no longer serves us. This sense of new beginnings is very relevant for all of us at the coming of the spring equinox. We invite people from all walks of life who want to participate in the yoga practice or only sit in mediation and enjoy the music."

All ages and levels of practice are welcome. Modifications of poses will be presented. Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat, water bottle, towel and friends.

Registration will begin at 5:00 p.m. and is free, but a donation of $10 is suggested. While pre-registration is recommended, walk-ins are welcome. In the event of inclement weather, the festival will be held inside the Visitor Center and Conservatory. For more information or to register, go to botgarden.uga.edu or call 706-542-6156.
