Young Adult Department and Digital Media Center team up for Teen Tech Week, March 9-13

Teens ages 11-18 will have the chance to explore new technologies during Teen Tech Week, a partnership between the Young Adult Department and Digital Media Center. We'll offer a whole week of tech-related events and programs, ending with a special afterhours 3-D printing program!

Monday, March 9, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Hour of Code - You love playing video games, but have you ever coded your own? In this workshop we will complete an Hour of Code challenge that will result in a playable jumper game. Use your laptop, tablet, phone or one of our computers. In the Computer Lab. Open to teens ages 11-18.

Tuesday, March 10, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Teen Tech Week Kickoff - Join us as we celebrate Teen Tech Week. Our kick-off starts with a tech craft AND a huge piano you can play with your feet! We'll also offer tours of the new Digital Media Lab. Open to teens ages 11-18. In Storyroom.

Podcasting Workshop for Teens - Ever wanted to create your own podcast but don't know where to start? Natalie Wright will show you how! Space is limited; registration is required. Thursday, March 12, 4:00 p.m.

Afternoon Teen Tech Movie - Join us for an afternoon movie with a tech bent. We haven't decided on a film yet, so send us your recommendations! Open to teens 11-18. In Appleton Auditorium.

Friday, March 13, 6:00-8:-00 p.m.

Afterhours: 3D Printing - Want to learn how to use a 3-D printer? Here's your chance! Create something cool, and print it using our new Makerbot. Space is limited to 10 people, so register early! Call (706) 613-3650, ext. 329, or emailplewis@athenslibrary.org.
