Suzuki Concert

The Athens-Clarke County Library's Children's Area invites families to a special violin performance at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, featuring students of the University of Georgia's Community Music School.

The performers, ages 5 to 12, study the Suzuki method of violin instruction. Created by violinist Shinichi Suzuki, the Suzuki method is based on the idea that young children can learn musical instruments much like they learn their native languages. By using a positive, encouraging environment, Suzuki teachers foster the love of music in their students at an early age.
