Chick-fil-A® Connect Half Marathon

2nd Annual Chick-fil-A® Connect Half Marathon Runs Home to Athens
Costume contests and family fun highlight the race, which will give proceeds to help build the 82nd Habitat for Humanity Athens home.

On Saturday, April 18, thousands of runners from across the Southeast will run home to Athens, Ga. to participate in the 2nd Annual Chick-fil-A® Connect Half Marathon. Stampeding across the Classic City – many dressed as cows - participants will compete against each other for Chick-fil-A® and
cash prizes. The Akins Ford Half Marathon Relay will be held immediately after the Half Marathon begins. The Fleet Feet Sports Athens Health & Fitness Expo keeps enthusiasm high at the start and finish line with local vendors and family activities.

With the help of sponsors, partners and participants running home, the Chick-fil-A® Connect Half Marathon will raise funds for the 82nd Habitat for Human ity home built in the area. The local non-profit has served more than 76 families in Athens since its inception and is bringing the Athens-Clarke County community together by building homes and bringing hope to families who need it most. Habitat for Humanity Athens reaches people in Clarke, Oconee and Oglethorpe counties through volunteers, sponsors and local churches. Recently, the organization celebrated 25 years serving the Athens community.
"We're thrilled the Chick-fil-A® Connect Half Marathon is back in the Classic City for a second year," said Gabe Norris, Co-Founder and Vice-President of Connect Ministries.

"We love providing this excellent event for the city that is valuable to everyone who participates and creates memories that families will never forget!"
Running the last leg of the race to the sounds of the UGA Redcoat drum line,
participants will cross the finish line inside The Classic Center in Grand Hall 8. Once finalized, the course will be posted online and on the Chick-fil-A® Race Series Facebook page.
