Divine Salon Spa hosts fundraiser for local resident

DIVINE SALON SPA & GIFTS, INC. And "Do Something Special & Give"

LombardoDo Something Special & Give Foundation (DSS&G Foundation, Inc.), together with Divine Salon Spa & Gifts, Inc. and our community is excited to announce our annual recipient this year is Angelo Lombardo. Angelo's story begins when he was 10 months old and was stricken with the disease Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome as a result of E. coli bacteria poisoning. The result for Angelo was a severely damaged heart and complete kidney failure. Even though the doctors described his heart like that of an 85 year old man, he still ran and played like normal children and even excelled on to play college baseball. In 2013, his kidney disease progressed and had to give up his baseball career. His coach asked him to stay on as a coach and continue being part of the team. Angelo eventually withdrew from college and was eligible for a transplant. His Father, Ralph Lombardo was a match! The transplant took place in March of 2014. It was difficult but a wonderful success. Statistics show that on an average, a transplanted kidney will last 15 years. Angelo believes everything happens for a reason and there is a purpose for his life.

On Saturday, September 6th, Divine Salon, Spa & Gifts will be having their 4th annual fundraising event from 10am to 3pm in the Market Shopping Center at our 1431 Capital Avenue address. The day will commence with a Motorcycle Ride partnered by Cycle World of Athens. They will end the ride at Market Center. We will be offering many ways for you to contribute throughout the day such as Barbeque lunches for $6.00 per plate, a silent auction and a Bake Sale. We will also be offering haircuts by our very own Divine stylists and other neighboring stylists from the Watkinsville area. The minimum donation for haircuts is $15.00. Other offerings include massages for $1.00 per minute, and hand massages for $5.00. We will have DSS&G T-shirts for sale $15.00 and ladies shirts $35 each. If you make a donation of $100.00 or more we will add your business name to the tee shirts! We will also be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a vacation week in Destin, Florida. We will gladly accept donations of any amount from now up to the day of the event. You can make your contributions at Divine Salon or at Oconee State Bank. Please make checks payable to the Angelo Lombardo Fundraiser.

This is certain to be a fun event! We invite you to bring your family, friends and neighbors to come join in the fun and festivities and show your care and concern for the Lombardo family. This year Ben Bridges will be our Master of
Ceremonies throughout the day. Other special guests include Julio from 92.3 WMOQ Radio. Music and entertainment will be going on throughout the day. For the kids we will have moonwalks, duck pool, a car driving simulation, as well as crazy hair and face painting.

We are still in need of silent auction items. If you would like to make a silent auction donation you can drop them off at the salon or we can arrange for them to be picked up. The donations for the auction need to be secured by August 29, 2014. 501(c)3 has been applied for and DSS&G Tax # is 46-5154609. Other ways for you to help would be to offer baked goods for the bake sale or individually wrapped desserts for the lunch plates. We will need food items the day before the event. Monetary and business donations to cover printing, t-shirts, barbeque, food and drink items are also very much needed. Please do not hesitate to call us at Divine Salon, Spa & Gifts at 706-769-3383 if you have any questions or would like to help. Parking for this event will be in the field next to shopping center. (Allen and Sharon Hunter's Property). We will hold the festivities in the cul-de-sac of shopping center.

Our goal is to raise awareness of Kidney disease, organ donation and help the Lombardo family with their increasing
monetary needs.
