Teens Present: Introduction to Journalism

Would you like to learn the powerful journalism tools of writing, researching, and storytelling? Would you love to gain the confidence to express yourself clearly? This program could be the perfect fit! Over the course of six weeks, you'll be introduced to reporting basics and get hands-on experience writing news, opinion, feature, and sports articles. Professional journalists will also serve as guest speakers, sharing their experiences and answering your questions. By the end, you will have the skills needed to report the news in your own community!

The program will be led by teen journalist and editor, Victoria Feng, who has been published in 10+ media outlets, including New York Magazine, Women's Health, Digital Trends, and SF Gate. Victoria is also the founder of Launch Student News, an organization that aims to connect young people to their schools and communities through student journalism.

Meetings will be held live, online for six Saturdays, from March 27th-May 1st. Open to anyone in grades 6-12 living in the Athens Regional Library System (Clarke, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Madison, and Franklin counties). Registering once will secure your spot in all six sessions.
