Back to School Health Fair!

The West Broad Farmers Market and World Changers Church are hosting a back to school health fair.

Saturday, July 26th from 10:00am - 2:00pm

The West Broad Farmers Market and Garden are located at the former West Broad School, 1573 W. Broad Street Athens, Georgia 30606.

The Health Fair and Farmers Market are free and open to the community. There will be activities for all ages throughout the day. Enjoy a chance to meet your local farmers and vendors. Fresh, fruits and vegetables, prepared foods, honey and crafts from Athens artisans will be available for purchase. The market accepts cash, credit and EBT / SNAP cards, EBT / SNAP cards receive half off!

Do not miss out on the activities planned for the day!

Children's Activities (10:30am - 1:30pm) will include Face Painting , Horseback Riding , Bounce House, Garden Tour: The Hungry Caterpillar Search at 10:30am, Volleyball at 11:00am and a Tomato & Spoon Race at 11:30am.

Cooking Demonstrations include the West Broad Farmers Market's Next Top Chef - Cooking with Kids at 11:30am and a demonstration from Chef Mimi Maumus from home.made catering at 12:00pm.

Education Tables will include: WIC, Alliance for a Healthier Generation, AIDS Athens, Athens-Clarke County Fire Department and they are bringing a Fire Truck from 10:00am -12:00pm, Earth Fare, UGA Health Navigation and the Office of Early Learning's Head Start Program.

Health Presentations & Workshops: Kevin Bailey: Physical Fitness at 11:00am and Dr. Gentzel: Functional Foods at 1:00pm.

Health Screenings: St. Mary's and Athens Health Network will offer Blood Pressure screenings and Athens Health Network will offer Glucose Testing.

Music: DJ Segar, The Segar Jazz Affair and Performances by: Latin Fusion Zumba at 11:00am and Tri Niquen at 11:30am.

Physical Fitness: Yoga in the Garden at 11:30am, please bring your yoga mats. The classes are open to the public, free and designed for all ages and fitness levels.
