Writing Workshop for Adults at the ACC Library

Founder of the Athens Writers Association to Host Writing Workshop at Athens-Clarke County Library, June 26

Have you ever wanted to write a book? Local author Katherine Cerulean will help you get started during her visit to the Athens-Clarke County Library on Thursday, June 26. Join her at 12:15 p.m. in Multipurpose Room B for this writing workshop during June's Lunchtime Learning @ Your Library.

Cerulean, a writer since the age of 16, is the editor and founder of the Athens Writers Association. Since 2013, AWA has upheld its mission of freely promoting fellowship, support and the books of all Athens, GA area writers. All genres are welcome and celebrated by the group.

The workshop is part of the 2014 "Literary Elements" Adult Summer Reading Program. Interested patrons who are at least 18 years old must read at least three books or listen to three audiobooks (available through Georgia Download Destination) between now and Wednesday, July 30. Adults can fill out a Literary Elements contest entry form for every three books completed and submit the form to designated Literary Elements locations in the library or online by 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, to participate in summer drawings. More information on the Summer Reading Program can be found at www.athenslibrary.org/srp-2014.

This event is free and open to the public. Beverages will be provided and participants are invited to bring a sack lunch. For more information, please call the reference desk at (706) 613-3650 ext. 356. The Athens-Clarke County Library is located at 2025 Baxter Street, Athens.
