SHREK the Musical! Dessert Theater

The University of Georgia Baptist Collegiate Ministries presents Shrek the Musical! Dessert Theater.

This amazing Tony Award winning Broadway musical will be showing at the historic Morton Theatre for four shows: February 28 at 7:00PM, February 29 at 2:00PM and 7:00PM, and March 1 at 3:00 PM. This event will also feature desserts from some of the finest chefs in Athens.

Shrek and Donkey lead a cast of fairy tale misfits on a great adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek is a lively and thoroughly entertaining show with a powerful message for the whole family. Shrek is a tale that reminds us that we are all different and beautiful in our own way and of the golden rule-to treat others as we want to be treated.

Musical Theater was started at the UGA BCM in 1977. This year's Dessert Theater Show is a musical produced and directed by students. Past shows include 42nd Street, Seussical, Disney's Tarzan, Big Fish, Disney's Mary Poppins, and Into the Woods. All proceeds benefit SendMeNow, a program which sends college students on mission trips throughout Georgia, the United States and the world at no cost to them. These opportunities include disaster relief, medical clinics and summer camps, among other projects serving under-reached populations.
