Caregiving: The Sweet Burden at the ACC Library

"Caregiving: The Sweet Burden" at Athens-Clarke County Library offers guidance to those caring for ill loved ones, June 19

The Athens-Clarke County Library will host a special program and panel discussion for caregivers on Thursday, June 19. The tasks a caregiver does with love can become overwhelming. How does a person cope with the grief that comes after a diagnosis or an accident? What plans does a caregiver need to make to prevent becoming frazzled with stress? How do caregivers forgive those who don't help? How do you keep your other relationships in a good place?

June's Community Snapshot program, "Caregiving: The Sweet Burden," addresses some of the issues faced by people who are caring for ill loved ones. It will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, in the library's Appleton Auditorium. The program will begin with Bertie's Last Stand, a new one act play by local playwright Muriel Pritchett and end with a panel discussion led by Dr. Anne Glass, (Associate Director and Graduate Coordinator of the Institute of Gerontology at the University of Georgia) and audience questions.

You can attend the program in person at the library, live over the internet, or watch the archive from our website. The program, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by Reflecting, Sharing, Learning, a leadership grant awarded to the Athens Regional Library System and Lyndon House Arts Center by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. For more information, log on to www.RSLathens.org or call the Athens-Clarke County Library at (706) 613-3650, ext. 343.
