BOO-LE-BARK ON THE BOULEVARD

Dogs. In costume. On parade. In support of Athenspets!

Boo-le-Bark on the Boulevard 2019: 4 p.m. Sunday, October 13, rain or shine.

We're getting the pups back together and hope you'll join us!

This year we have a theme: Boo-le-Bark Rocks & Rolls!

We can't wait to see your dogs in their best musically-inspired costumes!

The day's festivities start at 3:15 p.m. with a canine costume contest, followed by the parade at 4 p.m. They continue afterwards until 6 p.m. at the Canine Carnival (located at Jittery Joe's Roaster), where parade participants and spectators meet for food, music, fun, and LOTS of photos. The Carnival features a special kids-only zone with games and interactive events.

Registration for the parade is $15 from July 1 – August 31; $20 from September 1 – October 9; and $25 on the day of the parade (if spaces remain). Registration for the canine costume contest is $10 in addition to the parade entry fee.

Prior years' parades were a great success, with estimates of up to 1000 in attendance each time, including spectators with their own costumed dogs. Flagpole magazine, Athens Banner-Herald and The Red & Black each gave the parade extensive coverage. Also, check out our video!

As in prior years, all parade proceeds benefit Athenspets, the all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping the animals at Athens-Clarke County Animal Control and to preventing pet overpopulation in the Athens area. Last year, Boo-le-Bark raised $7500 for our area's neediest cats and dogs!

We are hoping you will be a part of the fun this year!

Boo-le-Bark is an opportunity for our community to come together over a shared love of dogs in costumes.  Please, no political or other divisive displays during the event. Thanks!
