Ruth Allen: PINK CAKE

Avid Bookshop presents local artist and author Ruth Allen for her debut picture book, Pink Cake. This event will take place on Friday, June 7, 2019, from 6:30-7:30pm at our Prince Avenue location and is a $25 ticket. Each ticket includes a copy of the book + tax and pink cake, of course!

ABOUT THE BOOK:

When Eliza Jane Trotsky wakes up on her birthday, the first thing she finds is a piece of pink cake which she takes outside to enjoy. Along comes a big blue jalopy full of things to trade for Eliza's birthday cake, but what will she choose? This sort of poetic little rhyming book is all about imagination and love.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Ruth Allen lives in a little green house with a little white hound in a small town in the southern United States. Her art is informed by the birds, flowers, animals, people and anxieties around her. She draws and paints as a means of emotional expression and ventilation.
