"Journey through the Stars" at Sandy Creek Nature Center

(ATHENS, GA) The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department will present will "Journey through the Stars" this spring at the planetarium at Sandy Creek Nature Center.

"Spring Skies" is scheduled for Saturday, March 16 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  Look at what our spring skies will hold. Listen to stories, look for visible planets and get ready to know what to look for in spring.

"Milky Way" is planned for Saturday, April 20 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  Hollywood's not the only place for famous stars. Tour through our Milky Way galaxy to learn about some of our biggest and brightest stars.

"Salute to the Sun" is set for Saturday, May 11 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Without our sun, we would not survive. Appreciate all that it does for us by learning more about it during this show. Weather permitting, we will pull out a solar filtered telescope to view the sun.

The program fee is $2 for an Athens-Clarke County and $3 for a non-Athens-Clarke County per session.   Online registration is underway at www.accgov.com /leisure by clicking the "Nature" tab.  This program has an admission fee and is not scholarship eligible.
