3rd Annual Black History Month Film Festival

Thurgood Marshall is remembered as the first African American Justice to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court.  But the foundation for his career was built on his courageous, and often dangerous work as a defense attorney for cases selected by the NAACP.  "Marshall," directed by Reginald Hudlin, tells the story of a particularly difficult case:  in 1940 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Marshall is called to defend a Black man accused of rape.  Marshall's fight against the odds is complicated by the judge's refusal to allow him to speak in court.  With the help of a reluctant ally, Marshall battles for justice.  Chadwick Boseman turns in another stellar performance as Marshall, along with Sterling K. Brown, Kate Hudson, Keesha Sharp, and an exceptional dramatic performance by Josh Gad.  Be ready for a surprise appearance by singer Andra Day.   The film is rated PG-13.

Back by popular demand, Dr. Lesley Feracho will introduce more extraordinary world music videos.  Following the film, special guest Honorable Christopher Ward, Deputy Chief Judge of the Municipal Court of Atlanta, will lead a question and answer session.

The festival is free, donations are gratefully accepted, and all are welcome!  On-street and deck parking are available for free on Sundays.
