'A Moveable Feast' Russell Library Spotlight on the Arts Family Day
The Russell Library will cover new territory this October when the installation WE: American Thanksgiving Conflict and Communion opens on Monday, October 29, 2018, in the Harrison Feature Gallery of the Richard B. Russell Special Collection Library. Created by local artist Micaela Hobbs, in collaboration with painter Jennifer Niswonger, the exhibit examines the history of the United States through the lens of the Thanksgiving dinner table. As a whole, the installation asks visitors to imagine the possible conversations and arguments between and among these figures while sitting together around the Thanksgiving table. The first in a series of events associated with the exhibit, the "Moveable Feast" will take place on Saturday November 3 from 2-4p.m. in Room 285 of the Richard B. Russell Library Special Collections Building located at 300 S. Hull Street. Attendees will visit the exhibit and meet its creator, Micaela Hobbs, to get inspired to make their own Thanksgiving WE-themed tablescapes. To fuel this creativity, attendees can feast on Charlie Brown Thanksgiving-themed snacks, take fun selfies with their creations.
