'Tales on the Front Porch' Program at Sandy Creek Nature Center
"Tales on the Front Porch" Program at Sandy Creek Nature Center
(ATHENS, GA) The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department will present a special evening at the log house at Sandy Creek Nature Center on Friday, October 12 from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Transport yourself to a time of the past when evenings were a great time to sit by a fire and listen to a story. Storyteller, Jackie Elsner, will tell the tale of "The Dead Moon." Before the story begins, visit the inside of the 1810 log house, enjoy a small fire to roast marshmallows and enjoy a hot beverage while sharing your own stories. Bring a flashlight and dress to be outdoors.
The program is for ages 13 and older. The fee is $3 for ACC residents and $5 for non-residents. Online registration is available at www.accogv.com/leisure by clicking on the "Nature" tab, under "adult programs," or registration is accepted at the door.
