Kids Pool to Path Swim + Run for Fun Challenge

The YWCO of Athens will host the Pool to Path: Kids Swim + Run for Fun, an aquathlon race for kids under 15, on Saturday June 2^nd at the Athens YWCO (562 Research Dr.) at 8am. There are swim/run distances for racers of varying ability levels and an after race party with fun for the whole family. The event will be over by10:30am.

There is a "Dash" event for kids under 8 that is a 50 yard (two lengths of the YWCO pool) swim and a 1K race (just under a mile). All finishers of the Dash will get a finisher medal. There are two distance races for kids under 15 to choose from: the Intermediate Distance, which is a 150 yard swim with a 2K run; and the Long Distance, which is a 300 yard swim with a 3K run. "Swim Angels" will be in the pool to assist swimmers if needed. The running course is on the trail path around the YWCO property. There will be hydration stations, volunteer race monitors and cheering supporters throughout the course, and Mama's Boy biscuits at the end for all racers.

All racers get an event dri-fit t-shirt, breakfast, swag bag and will be announced as they cross the finish line. Top finishers of the two distance races, male and female in each of 2 age groups will receive awards. In addition to the awards presentations, after the races there will be a fun post-race celebration for the whole family, with an inflatable slide, face-painting, yard games, music and concessions. Registration is $30 per racer. Racers can register online or in advance at the YWCO. Only Dash participants can register day of the race.
